Paulo Coelho has said that when you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you achieve it. I realised the truth in this statement when I got a VVIP pass to attend a Rekha Bharadwaj concert at Phoenix Marketcity on 14th June, 2015.
While working or on days when things were just not working out for me, I would lose myself in her music and think that one day I will get to attend her concert. Maybe, my universe genie heard this wish of mine and fulfilled it through this concert organised by MCA India and BlogAdda.
On the D-day, I reached the venue one hour before the scheduled time and I was just counting seconds. In this state of excitement, being in a civil mode is quite a task. The concert began with the performance of Varenyam Pandya, a cute child with an amazing voice. He sang some soulful tunes and was quite a delight with his stage antics.
Next up was the rock band, Joshish. I loved their track ‘Maujood’ and I must say their camaraderie on stage was quite enjoyable. At one point, they were simply jamming and it was so amazing to see them strum out all those tunes.
After a good 30 to 40 minutes, my beloved favourite singer arrived with her band, Aziza. She began her performance with a sufi custom and I could not take my eyes off of her. I was shell shocked. I was finally seeing my favourite singer in front of me performing my favourite songs like ‘Phir Le Aaya Dil’, ‘Kabira’, ‘ Genda Phool’, ‘Darling’ and so many more. She ended her performance with ‘Namak’, which had got the audience moving to each and every beat. People had started dancing and it was such an amazing sight. Truly, one of the best evenings ever. I hope BlogAdda and MCA India continue arranging such super concerts.
