Portal

She led a prisoner’s life with him. Fed by his hostility, she merely existed. Her veil too, could not hide her miserable life. It was only when the little child came and narrated stories to her through the open door window, did she come alive. In her husband’s absence, it had become a portal to another world. The little girl’s courage had become her strength.
